Seudah & Cinema

Sunday, January 30 @ 5:00 pm

Park Synagogue Main (Miller Chapel)

Donations welcome
Prepaid reservations due January 21

Join Gesher for a special Seudah, the meal that ends Shabbat.  We will begin at 5:00 pm with the Mincha Service led by Gadi Galili in Miller Chapel, and then enjoy the Seudah featuring a casual meal.

Following Havdalah, sit back and enjoy the entertaining film “Hava Nagila (The Movie),” a documentary on the history, mystery, and meaning of the 150 year old popular Jewish standard that follows the around-the-world journey of the song from Eastern Europe to the Catskills to YouTube. After the screening, join us to dance the hora and other Israeli dances led by Fred Binstock. Open to all ages!

Would you like to participate in the Mincha or Ma’ariv services?  There are English and Hebrew parts available.

Advance reservations are required for the Seudah by January 21st.  While there is no charge for this event, we do appreciate donations to help cover the costs of the dinner.

The Park Synagogue is a place where every congregant can feel comfortable along his/her own personal life journey. We offer intellectual vigor coupled with the warmth of family. Connecting to others will enhance your connection to Judaism. Whether it is through song or study, through public celebration or private reflection, there is something for everyone at Park. We take seriously the notion that a congregation should bring together people of all ages for a shared experience. We look forward to seeing you here!
