The Robert Leitson Memorial Fund Program invites you to:
Why Poland's Jewish History Matters for
Jews & Poles
presented by Dr. Sean Martin
Sunday, October 15 @ 2:00 - 4:00 pm
FREE and open to the public
Join us to hear Dr. Sean Martin, Associate Curator for Jewish History at The Cleveland History Center, present this interesting view of history. His numerous publications deal with Jewish Life in Poland, as well as in the United States, and Cleveland in particular. His newest publication is For the Good of the Nation: Institutions for Jewish Children in Interwar Poland, which chronicles the tens of thousands orphaned Jewish children during World War I and the response of Jewish leaders in Poland who established CENTOS, the Central Union of Associations for Jewish Orphan Care.
A lovely dessert reception follows the discussion.
The program is sponsored by the Leitson Memorial Fund in memory of Robert Leitson, with the support of the Park Synagogue Library and the Park Synagogue Sisterhood.
Sean Martin is Associate Curator for Jewish History at The Cleveland History Center.
Among the few non-Jewish people who speaks Yiddish, Sean has studied Jewish, Russian and East European history at The Ohio State University. His numerous publications deal with Jewish Life in Poland, as well as in the United States, and Cleveland in particular.
