Premiered last year to sold-out crowds, Jeannette Sorrell’s evocation of Old Jerusalem blends music and poetry from the Jewish, Christian, Arab, and Armenian quarters of the Old City. Medieval harp, oud, and exotic percussion blend with Sephardic ballads and Arabic love songs. The performers, including musicians of Jewish, Palestinian, Persian, Muslim, and Christian backgrounds, join in celebration of sisterhood and brotherhood. Tel Aviv native, Daphna Mor, returns as a featured performer on recorders and ney.
