Bereavement Support Group

Park Synagogue is sponsoring a bereavement support group for individuals who have lost a loved one, whether a spouse, parents, adult child, sibling, or friend. Anita Minkin, PhD and Licensed Independent Social Worker, will be the group facilitator. The group is free and open to all Park members, and, if there is space, to others from the community. Space is limited to 10 people, so register soon.

Please note that it is suggested that one wait at least 3 months after the death of a loved one to join the Bereavement Support Group. It is also important to attend all 5 sessions to have the group be effective.

Reasons to join Park’s Bereavement Support Group:

• It reminds you that you are not alone; that grief is a part of life and an inevitable part of loving others.

• It helps you recognize signs of grieving and what are some natural responses to loss.

• The group gives actionable steps for coping with your loss.

• Group members can receive support, comfort, friendship and hope from each other.

Pre-registration is required . For questions and/or to register, please contact Ellen Petler at epetler@parksyn.org or 216-371-2244 ext. 122.
