Dr. Brigadier General (Res.) Jonatan (Yoni) Shimshoni served for 25 years in the IDF in field command and staff positions, and continued for many years in the reserves, working on strategy, doctrine and technology policy. He received his PhD in national security policy from Princeton School of Public and International Affairs. Yoni is a Research Affiliate at the MIT Security Studies Program and Affiliate faculty in the Shcar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University. He is currently  on the leadership team of Commanders for Israel’s Security, a group of 550 former senior leaders in Israel’s military, security, and diplomatic services that analyzes and advocates on national security policy. He lives in Tel-Aviv with Lea.
