Take a Hike with Gesher!

The Infamous Cleveland Bridge War Walk

Park and Meet at Merwin's Wharf, 1785 Merwin Ave., Cleveland

Join Gesher and Metropark Historian Judy MacKeigan for an interesting walk on the towpath along the river in the Flats. Explore the sites of the 1836 bridge war when Ohio City and Cleveland went to battle over the newly built Columbus St. Bridge. Hear about this odd bit of Cleveland history as we enjoy the views of the river and the Flats.

Walk is 1.5 miles long. Participants must be able to walk one-hour at a moderate pace to keep up with the group.

After the walk, we will have a picnic lunch in Rivergate Park. Bring your own non-meat lunch and beverage. Gesher will supply the dessert.

Free & Open to Park Members

Registration by June 24 is required. Questions? Contact Ellen Petler at epetler@parksyn.org.

Sponsored by Park’s Gesher Group for baby-boomer age members & friends.
