Join us for our annual Women’s Shabbat, sponsored by the Women of Park. This special Shabbat morning will feature many women from the Park congregation leading and participating in our services. If you are interested in taking part in the service, please reach out to Sasha.
We are honored to welcome Professor Shari Rabin, Professor of Jewish Studies, Religion, and History at Oberlin College, as our Women’s Shabbat guest speaker. An award-winning scholar of American Jewish history, Professor Rabin is the author of Jews on the Frontier: Religion and Mobility in Nineteenth-century America.
During services, Professor Rabin will present “Oberlin and Park Synagogue: An Update and Some Reflections,” discussing Oberlin College’s efforts at ParkArts, a new facility being created in Park’s historic Mendelsohn building, with a special focus on the involvement of the Jewish Studies program.
Following services, join us for a paid luncheon and program featuring Professor Rabin’s presentation, “American Jewish Women: New Stories.” Exploring the experiences and contributions of Jewish women from the South and the Midwest, this engaging talk will highlight voices and perspectives often overlooked in both communal narratives and academic studies of American Jewish history.
If you’re interested in having a part in the service, or have any questions, please reach out to Sasha Huston at shuston@parksyn.org or (216) 371-2244, ext.155.
