In-Person Projects for Families & Individuals

All volunteers will need to wear masks & socially distance to volunteer for in-person projects. Pre-registration is required for all In-person projects.

Clean-Up Historic Jewish Cemetery & Plant Flowers

10:00-11:30 am

Bring your own garden tools & work gloves. 
8-10 volunteers needed, ages 10 & up

Fostering Hope
10:00-12:00 noon

Pack Journey Bags for children going into emergency foster care and make cards for children. Limited to 6-8 volunteers, ages 4 & up

Center Project

at PSE in Wain Pavilion

10:00-12:00 Noon

Stuff and/or sew closed heart-shaped pillows for breast cancer patients to give them comfort. Limited to 6-8 volunteers, ages 8 & up.

Deliver Cookie Trays

pick-up at 12:00 Noon

Deliver cookie trays to area
police/fire stations to thank them for their service. Need 6-8 families to deliver cookies.

Make-At-Home Projects for Families & Individuals

Between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, bring to the Wain Pavilion at Park East all items that you & your family have made. There will be curbside pick-up.

Rainbow & Metro Hospitals

Purchase art & craft items and assemble activity kits in large ziplock bags for young patients, make cards of cheer
(All items must be NEW!) PLEASE NOTE: All volunteers packing activity kits must wear a mask and practice good hand hygiene.

VA Hospital

Assemble personal care & activity kits in large ziplock bags for men & women veterans at the VA Hospital. Include a note or card of encouragement and thanks for their service. (All items must be NEW!)

US & Israeli Soldiers

Make cards or write letters of encouragement for US and Israeli soldiers to thank them for their service. 

Area Nursing Homes & Senior Facilities

Make colorful cards or write notes for Park members in area nursing home & senior facilities to give them encouragement.

Journey Center for
Safety & Healing

Make no-sew knotted fringed fleece blankets for women & children residing at domestic violence shelter to give them comfort.

Area Police &
Fire Stations

Make homemade cookies or other baked goods and bring on disposable plates to thank our area first responders. PLEASE NOTE: All bakers need to wear a mask and handle cookies wearing disposable gloves. Cookies must be dropped off by 11:00 am to the Wain Pavilion at PSE.

Donation Projects

Between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, bring to the Wain Pavilion at Park East all items that you & your family are donating. There will be curbside pick-up.

Eliza Bryant Village

Donate NEW crayons, colored pencils, markers and large print Adult-style coloring books for residents of the nursing home.

Park's Little Free Libraries at Cory

Donate new or gently used books for babies through high school students and make bookmarks for the children.
(Please no Jewish-Themed Books.)

Providence House

Donate NEW hair-ties, hair conditioner, swaddle-me blankets & sleep sacks for infants and toddlers at risk.

Rescue Village

Donate pet food, old towels and blankets and other items on the Rescue Village Wish List to help care for animals at shelter. 

US Together Refugee Resettlement Agency

Donate Target or Walmart gift cards and make cards to welcome new refugee families to Cleveland. 

Monetary Donations

Between 10:00 am and 12:00 noon, bring monetary donations (cash or check) of any amount to the Wain Pavilion at Park Synagogue East for curbside pick-up. Or use link below to make a credit card donation.  Or mail a check (payable to Park Synagogue) to Mitzvah Day, Park Synagogue, 27500 Shaker Blvd., Pepper Pike, OH 44124. 

All Monetary Donations will be divided up among the following organizations:

To give special services and support

to area foster children.

To will make a special dinner for shelter residents

To give assistance to infants and toddlers at risk

To help resettle refugee families who are
new to Cleveland.
