Peter Haas will speak on:

Professor Haas earned his B.A. in Ancient Near East History from the University of Michigan (1970) and was ordained as a Reform rabbi at Hebrew Union College (1974). After serving three years as a U.S. Army chaplain, he completed a Ph.D. in Jewish Studies at Brown University (1980). He taught at Vanderbilt University from 1980, later joining Case Western Reserve University in 2000, where he chaired the Department of Religious Studies (2003–2015). He retired in 2016. In retirement, he volunteers with local emergency response and court advocacy groups and teaches adult education courses through CWRU and Baldwin Wallace University.
